Sophie Hannah was born in Manchester in 1971 and studied English literature and Spanish at the University of Manchester. She first published poetry; her debut collection, »The Hero and the Girl Next Door«, appeared when she was 24. She later turned to crime fiction. Her first psychological thriller, »Little Face« (German: »Still, still«), was published in 2006. In 2013, she received the Crime & Thriller of the Year award for »The Carrier«. Hannah’s books have been published in more than 20 countries and adapted for television. A passionate admirer of Agatha Christie since the age of 13, she later wrote the Christie continuation novels »The Monogram Murders«, »Closed Casket« and »The Mystery of Three Quarters«.
