Sonja Hilzinger

Sonja Hilzinger (born 1955) studied German literature, art history and journalism, earning her doctorate in 1985 and her habilitation in 1997. She worked as a literary scholar, editor, academic lecturer and consultant, as well as a freelance author. She became particularly known for her publications on Christa Wolf and for editing the twelve-volume Christa Wolf edition (1999–2001). She also wrote biographies of Anna Seghers (2000), Inge Müller (2005) and Elisabeth Langgässer (2009), as well as a dual biography of Christa and Gerhard Wolf (2014).
