Simone Hirth, born in Freudenstadt in 1985, studied at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig. After moving several times and working a variety of temporary jobs, she published her debut novel, “Lied über die geeignete Stelle für eine Notunterkunft,” which was nominated for the Alpha Literature Prize. Her other novels include “Das Loch” (2020) and “Malus” (2023), both published by Kremayr & Scheriau. Hirth has received, among other distinctions, the BMUKK Start Scholarship, the Hans Weigel Literature Scholarship, the Swabian Literature Prize, and the Reinhard Priessnitz Prize.
