Simon Spurrier

Simon “Si” Spurrier (born 1981) is a British author of novels and comics. He has published standalone crime novels as well as fantasy novels set in the Warhammer franchise. Before becoming a writer, he worked, among other roles, as a cook, bookseller and art director. His first comics appeared through British independent publishers and in 2000 AD and Judge Dredd Magazine. He later wrote stories featuring the X-Men, Silver Surfer and Batman for major US publishers. His creator-owned comics include Numbercruncher, Six-Gun Gorilla, The Spire, Coda, Godshaper and Alienated. He also wrote Star Wars: Doctor Aphra and The Dreaming, among other titles. In 2020, he received a GLAAD Media Award for Star Wars: Doctor Aphra.
