Silvia Federici

Silvia Federici is a feminist activist, writer, and teacher. In 1972, she was one of the co-founders of the International Feminist Collective, which initiated the international campaign for wages for housework. From 1987 to 2005, she taught international politics and political philosophy at Hofstra University in New York State. She wrote books and essays on philosophy, feminist theory, capitalist globalization, and the feminist reclamation of the commons. Her best-known works include *Caliban and the Witch: Women, the Body and Primitive Accumulation* and *Witches, Witch-Hunting, and Women*.
