Shahrnush Parsipur

Shahrnush Parsipur, born in Tehran in 1946, is an author of novels, short stories, and memoirs. She was sentenced to prison once under the Shah and three times in the Islamic Republic for political activities. While in prison, she wrote the first part of her novel “Tuba,” which was published in the original in 1989 and in German translation in 1995.
