Scott Schuman initially worked in fashion marketing and branding. In the early 2000s, he began photographing stylishly dressed people on the streets of New York and published the images on the blog The Sartorialist. He later wrote and photographed for GQ, Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris, and Interview, and created campaigns for brands including Gap, Verizon, Nespresso, DKNY Jeans, Absolut, and Burberry. His work was included in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
