Sascha Verlan

Sascha Verlan is a journalist, author and director. He studied modern German literature, medieval studies and history, as well as political science and media theory, in Stuttgart and Bonn. Together with Almut Schnerring, he wrote and produced radio pieces and features under the name “Wort & Klang Küche.” His work has focused on hip-hop and youth culture, spoken word, exclusion and gender stereotypes. With Schnerring, he initiated Equal Care Day, an awareness day promoting recognition and a fair distribution of care work. His books include “Die Rosa-Hellblau-Falle” (2014), “35 Jahre HipHop in Deutschland” (2015) and “Über Fürsorge und Gesellschaft” (2020).
