Santo Piazzese

Santo Piazzese was born in Palermo in 1948. He is a molecular biologist who taught and conducted research at the University of Palermo. He became known as an author of crime fiction and short stories, many of them set in a Sicilian context. His works include the novel “Blues di mezz’autunno,” stories such as “Il viaggio segreto di Niels Bohr a Palermo,” and the “Palermo Trilogy,” published in German editions from 2019 to 2023. Piazzese received, among other distinctions, the Premio nazionale di narrativa Grazia Deledda and France’s Prix du Polar de la Méditerranée.
