Sam Kieth (born 1963) is an American comic artist and writer. He entered the comics scene in the mid-1980s as the inker on Matt Wagner’s series „Mage“. Among his best-known works are „Epicurus the Sage“, written by William Messner-Loebs, and „The Maxx“, a superhero saga created by Kieth as writer and artist in 1993 and later adapted as an animated series. His other original comics include „Zero Girl“, „Four Women“ and „Ojo“. Kieth also worked on stories featuring characters such as Batman, Lobo, Wolverine, Hulk, Judge Dredd and Spider-Man, and produced numerous covers. In 2000, he directed the adventure film „Take It to the Limit“.
