Sabine Wilharm

Sabine Wilharm (born 1954) studied illustration and book illustration at the College of Design in Hamburg. From 1976 onward, she worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic artist for magazines as well as children’s and young adult publishers. Her work included caricatures, comics, picture books and children’s novels. She became widely known for designing the German editions of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, helping to shape the series’ visual identity in Germany. Among other projects, she also illustrated Timo Parvela’s Ella series. Until 2009, she periodically taught illustration and drawing at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
