Ruth Albrecht (born 1954) holds a doctorate in theology and worked as a pastor, including in hospital chaplaincy. In 2000, she completed her habilitation at the University of Hamburg with a study of Johanna Eleonora Petersen. She taught there as a Privatdozentin and adjunct professor of church history. Her research focused on women’s and gender studies, the religious and social history of the nineteenth century, and the regional history of Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.
