Rose Lagercrantz

Rose Lagercrantz, born in Stockholm in 1947, worked in radio and television before beginning to write children’s books. For her body of work, she received, among other honors, the Nils Holgersson Plaque and the Astrid Lindgren Prize. She was also awarded the August Prize, regarded as Sweden’s most important literary prize. In Germany, she became particularly known for her books about the girl Dunne, beginning with *My Happy Life*.
