Romy Schneider was born in East Berlin in 1980. After studying business administration, she worked for several years in the communications industry in Düsseldorf and Essen. In 2018, she travelled around the world with her family; the experience inspired her autobiographical travel book “Herz schlägt Kopf – Wie ich mit meiner Familie um die Welt reiste, um das Glück zu finden,” published in October 2020. Schneider is a trained freelance editor and author. “Gelegenheiten” is her debut novel.
