Rolf Zuckowski

Born in Hamburg on 12 May 1947, Rolf Zuckowski was a composer, musician, music producer and writer of children’s songs. During his school years, he sang and played guitar in the student band The BeAthovens. From 1967 to 1972, he studied business administration and subsequently worked as an executive assistant at the Hans Sikorski music publishing house. After an early career as a writer of pop and schlager songs, he increasingly turned to music for children, partly inspired by the birth of his first daughter. His 1977 musical play “Rolfs Vogelhochzeit” led to his first concerts in schools and kindergartens. With “Rolf und seine Freunde,” he became widely known for songs including “… und ganz doll mich” and “In der Weihnachtsbäckerei.” His work earned him, among other honors, the Echo, the Goldene Stimmgabel and the Federal Cross of Merit.
