Robert Falcon Scott

Robert Falcon Scott (1868–1912) was a British naval officer and polar explorer. He undertook two expeditions to the South Pole. His first expedition had to be abandoned because of inadequate preparation for survival in Antarctic conditions. During his second expedition, he reached the South Pole but died on the return journey. His remains were found eight months after his death, together with his diary, which is regarded as a significant scientific and personal record.
