Richard Scarry

Richard Scarry (1919–1994) was an American illustrator and children’s author. Born in Boston, he studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and began his career as an illustrator and freelancer. In 1963, he published Mein allerschönstes Wörterbuch, which became an international bestseller. He created more than 300 books, many of which were adapted into animated series. Scarry died in Gstaad in 1994.
