Richard Adams

Richard Adams (1920–2016) studied literature and history at Oxford. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked for the English environmental protection authority. He became internationally known for the success of *Watership Down*. The story about a group of rabbits grew out of tales he told his daughters, Juliet and Rosamond, and later wrote down. Adams died in Oxford in 2016.
