Regine Schindler

Regine Schindler (Dr. phil., Dr. theol. h. c.) was a Germanist, theologian, and author of numerous religious children’s books. She wrote biblical stories, prayers for children, and the children’s Bible *Mit Gott unterwegs* (1996). For her publications on Christian education and children’s literature, as well as her research and lecturing, she received an honorary doctorate from the University of Zurich. Her distinctions included the Catholic Children’s and Young People’s Book Prize and the Swiss Young People’s Book Prize. Another focus of her work was research and publications on *Heidi* author Johanna Spyri and Spyri’s mother, Meta Heusser.
