Rebecca Elbs

Rebecca Elbs studied community music and directing at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts after performing in theatre in Galway. She subsequently studied English and German to become a teacher and taught at schools in socially disadvantaged areas. She worked for the international exchange organisation Experiment e.V. Her first children’s novel, “Leo & Lucy – Die Sache mit dem dritten L,” received the Kirsten Boie Promotional Award in 2020. In 2022, she was awarded the Kranichstein Children’s Literature Scholarship, and the novel was nominated for the Franco-German Prize for Young Adult Literature. Even before she could read, Elbs made books from coloured paper and staples.
