Rada Biller was born in Baku in 1930. After the Second World War, she studied geography in Moscow and moved to Prague in the 1950s. In 1970, she emigrated with her family to Hamburg, where she conducted research at the University of Hamburg’s Institute for Foreign Trade. She wrote prose sketches and short stories in her native Russian. Her published works include *Melonenschale* (2003) and *Lina und die anderen* (2006).
