Quino

Quino, whose real name was Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón, was born in 1932 and was an Argentine cartoonist. He became best known for the comic series “Mafalda,” which he drew from 1964 to 1973. The series combines humor with sharp observations and messages of universal significance. In 1988, it was awarded the prize for best international comic strip at the Erlangen Comic Salon. “Mafalda” also received the Prince of Asturias Award in 2014.
