Pierre L. Ibisch is a biologist with a habilitation. In 2009, he was appointed to one of the first research professorships at a German university of applied sciences and served as a professor of conservation at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development. His academic work includes systemic approaches to sustainability and the question of how sustainable natural-resource management can draw on complex ecological systems.
