Philipp Blom

Philipp Blom, born in Hamburg in 1970, studied philosophy, history and Jewish studies in Vienna and Oxford, where he received a doctorate in history in 1996. He works as a historian and author and has published historical nonfiction, novels and films. His best-known works include The Vertigo Years, Fractured Times, The World Turned Upside Down, What Is at Stake and The Subjugation. Blom has received, among other honors, the NDR Kultur Sachbuchpreis and the Premis Internacional Terenci Moix, and held a fellowship at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles.
