Peter Wohlleben

Peter Wohlleben (born 1964) studied forestry and worked for 23 years in the Rhineland-Palatinate state forestry administration. In 2006, he left his position and took over a 1,200-hectare forest in the Eifel as a forester, where he established an ecologically oriented forestry operation. He founded the Waldakademie in 2016. As an author, he writes about forests, nature and conservation. His best-known books include *The Hidden Life of Trees*, *The Inner Life of Animals* and *The Secret Network of Nature*. In 2019, he received the Bavarian Nature Conservation Medal.
