Peter von Becker

Peter von Becker is a German journalist, essayist and writer. His work has appeared in publications including Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Zeit and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He was co-editor of the magazine Theater heute and spent eight years as feuilleton editor-in-chief of the Tagesspiegel; he also taught at Berlin University of the Arts. His work includes novels, poetry, the youth play Wach auf und träume, and screenplays for the television series The Century of the Theater. The play ran for two years at Munich’s Schauburg theatre. His books also include the novel Céleste and the biography Eduard Arnhold. Reichtum verpflichtet, revised in 2025.
