Peter B. Gillis (born 1952) began his career as a comic-book writer at Marvel in the late 1970s. He contributed to titles including What If?, Marvel Two-in-One, Super-Villain Team-Up, The Defenders, The Eternals, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Hawkeye, Hulk, and Micronauts. In the mid-1980s, he gained attention for Shatter, regarded as the first fully digitally produced mainstream comic. His other work included Strikeforce: Morituri, Warp, Starslayer, The Black Flame, Gammarauders, Tailgunner Jo, and a comic adaptation of Peter S. Beagle’s The Last Unicorn. Gillis also worked for a time as an editor at New Media Publishing.
