Paul Ingendaay, born in Cologne in 1961, is a journalist, novelist, and literary scholar. For nearly two decades, he reported from Madrid for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung; in 2016, he became the newspaper’s Europe correspondent in Berlin. He received the Alfred Kerr Prize for Literary Criticism in 1997. His works include the novels *Warum du mich verlassen hast*, *Die romantischen Jahre*, and *Königspark*, as well as *Die Nacht von Madrid* and *Gebrauchsanweisung für Andalusien*.
