Oskar Sala

Oskar Sala (1910–2002) was a German musician, composer, and scientist. While studying at the Berlin Academy of Music, he worked on the development of the Trautonium, one of the first electronic musical instruments. He later perfected the Mixturtrautonium and is regarded as a pioneer of electroacoustic music. Sala composed soundtracks for more than 300 films, including Alfred Hitchcock’s *The Birds*.
