Olli Jalonen, born in Helsinki in 1954, is a Finnish writer. He studied social sciences at the University of Tampere and lived and worked for many years in Sweden and Ireland. His literary work received numerous awards, including the Finlandia Prize, Finland’s most prestigious literary prize, which he won twice, as well as the Finnish State Prize for Literature. His works were translated into several languages. His novels published in German include »Die Himmelskugel« and »Vierzehn Knoten bis Greenwich«.
