Norman Maclean

Norman Fitzroy Maclean (1902–1990) was an American writer and scholar of literature from Iowa. From 1930 to 1973, he taught English literature at the University of Chicago. His best-known works include *A River Runs Through It*, which reached a broad audience through its film adaptation directed by Robert Redford.
