Nina Rauprich

Nina Rauprich was born in Bielefeld in 1938. She studied agriculture and plant breeding in Göttingen before receiving acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Berlin and performing on stage and in television. After marrying and having three children, she began writing books for children and young adults in 1978. Her works often address social and environmental issues. They include “Lasst den Uhu leben!” (1985), her first environmental book, and “Die abenteuerliche Flucht des Carl Kroll.” She received the Friedrich Gerstäcker Prize in 1994 for the latter. Her books were translated into several languages and received multiple awards.
