Nassim Nicholas Taleb was born in Lebanon. He is a financial mathematician, philosophical essayist, and researcher of risk and randomness. His perspectives on these subjects were shaped in part by roughly twenty years of trading derivatives and securities. His professional positions have included a professorship in risk engineering at New York University. He is best known for „Fooled by Randomness“, „The Black Swan“, „Antifragile“, and „Skin in the Game“, which together form the „Incerto“ series.
