Najat El Hachmi

Najat El Hachmi is a Catalan-Moroccan author and journalist. At the age of eight, she migrated with her family from Morocco to Spain. Her widely acclaimed books addressed identity, cultural belonging and the significance of being a woman in Muslim culture. In 2015, she received the BBVA San Juan Prize and the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize for »Eine fremde Tochter«. In 2021, she was awarded the Nadal Prize for »Am Montag werden sie uns lieben«. She also worked as a columnist for Spanish newspapers including El País.
