Nadine Pungs was born in the Rhineland in 1981 and studied German and history. Before becoming a freelance author, she worked as a cabaret performer, appeared in theatre productions and organized comedy shows. Her travels repeatedly took her to the Middle East, including a journey of several months through Saudi Arabia. She draws on encounters and observations from her travels in her books. Her publications include »Das verlorene Kopftuch. Wie der Iran mein Herz berührte« and »Meine Reise ins Übermorgenland. Allein unterwegs von Jordanien bis Oman«, both published by Malik.
