Nadia Murad

Nadia Murad, born in Iraq in 1993, is a Yazidi human rights activist. In 2016, the United Nations appointed her Goodwill Ambassador for the Dignity of Survivors of Human Trafficking. In this capacity, she advocated recognition of the genocide of the Yazidis by the so-called Islamic State and the release of other Yazidis held captive.
