Muriel Barbery

Muriel Barbery was born in Casablanca in 1969 and studied philosophy in France. She lived in Kyoto for several years and is a novelist. Her debut novel, »Gourmet«, was published in 2000. Her second novel, »The Elegance of the Hedgehog«, became an international bestseller, was translated into more than 30 languages, and received numerous awards. Her third novel, »The Life of Elves«, was published in France in 2015.
