Author · 14 books
Miyamoto Musashi (1584–1645) was a Japanese samurai and swordsman. His uncle introduced him to the art of dueling at an early age, and he devoted his life to swordsmanship. His techniques, associated with the Niten Ichi-ryū school, contributed to his enduring status as a legendary figure in Japanese culture. Shortly before his death, he withdrew as a hermit and wrote The Book of Five Rings, in which he set out his views on strategy and swordsmanship.
