Mike Unwin was an award-winning freelance author and photographer specializing in natural history and wildlife. He published more than 30 books for adults and children and wrote for publications including *The Daily Telegraph*, *The Times*, *BBC Wildlife* and *Travel Africa*, as well as for the RSPB and WWF. A keen birdwatcher, he travelled to every continent in search of birds and other wildlife. He was named UK Travel Writer of the Year several times.
