Mike Reiss (born 1959) is an American screenwriter and gag writer. He worked as a co-writer on the animated series *The Simpsons* and wrote 18 children’s books. For his contributions to the “Joke with the Pope” competition, Pope Francis referred to him as a “Missionary of Joy.”
