Michael Ford was born in northern England in 1980. He studied Classics and English at the University of Oxford and initially worked as an English teacher in Greece and in various publishing houses. Ford writes books for children and young adults, chiefly historical fiction and fantasy. His works include the Spartan series and, under the pseudonym Adam Blade, titles in the Beast Quest series. He also writes crime novels for adults set in Oxford.
