Michael Diamond

Michael “Mike D” Diamond is an American musician and a member of the Beastie Boys. The trio formed in New York’s hardcore punk underground in 1981 and became one of the first major hip-hop acts. The Beastie Boys’ best-known albums include “Licensed to Ill,” “Paul’s Boutique,” “Check Your Head,” “Ill Communication,” “Hello Nasty,” and “To the 5 Boroughs.” “Licensed to Ill” was the first rap album to reach number one on the US pop charts. Between 1986 and 2004, the group released seven platinum-certified albums. The Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
