Mechtild Borrmann was born in 1960 and spent her childhood and youth on the Lower Rhine. Before becoming known as a writer, she worked, among other things, as a dance and theater educator and as a restaurateur; for many years, she ran a restaurant in Bielefeld’s old town. She received the German Crime Fiction Prize for her crime novels. Her works include “Morgen ist der Tag nach gestern,” “Mitten in der Stadt,” “Trümmerkind,” “Grenzgänger,” and “Feldpost.”
