Max Bronski

Max Bronski is the pseudonym of Franz-Maria Sonner, who was born in Tutzing in 1953. Sonner grew up in Munich and studied sociology and modern German literature at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. From 2006 onward, he published crime novels under the name Max Bronski. He is best known for his series featuring Gossec, a Munich antiques dealer; other works include The Death Am I (»Der Tod bin ich«) and »Oskar«. In 2019, he received the Friedrich Glauser Prize for the best crime novel of the year for »Oskar«. In 2023, he was awarded the Radio Bremen Crime Fiction Prize.
