Matthias Jacob

Matthias Jacob (born 1961) studied Slavic studies, German and art history. He worked as a lecturer in literary studies at the University of Tübingen, as a literary translator, journalist and guidebook author. As a tour guide, he accompanied study tours to countries and regions in southeastern Europe, including Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Albania and Greece. His publications with Trescher Verlag include the guidebooks *Istria* and *Trieste*. His interest in Trieste as a meeting place of Italian, Slavic and German-speaking cultures began during his studies.
