Matt Parker is an Australian mathematician, former mathematics teacher, and stand-up comedian. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Western Australia but turned to teaching mathematics before completing his degree. He became known in part through his YouTube channel, “StandUpMaths,” as well as through lectures and appearances on radio and television. Parker worked as a Public Engagement in Mathematics Fellow at Queen Mary University of London and as a Popular Lecturer for the London Mathematical Society. Among his unusual mathematics projects was tossing a coin 10,000 times.
