Marlen Hobrack, born in Bautzen in 1986, studied literature, cultural studies and media studies before initially working for a management consultancy. From 2016 onward, she worked as a full-time journalist and author for newspapers and magazines including der Freitag, Die Zeit, Die Welt, taz and Monopol. Her nonfiction book “Klassenbeste. Wie Herkunft unsere Gesellschaft spaltet” was published in 2022, followed by her debut novel “Schrödingers Grrrl” in 2023. She received the Jörg Henle Prize for Literary Criticism in 2023.
