Mark Forsyth, born in London in 1977, is a British author. He studied literature and linguistics at the University of Oxford. His books deal, among other subjects, with language, semantics, Christmas traditions and bookshops; he has a particular interest in words that have fallen out of everyday use. According to his biographical account, he received a copy of the Oxford English Dictionary for his baptism.
