Mark Billingham

Mark Billingham, born in Birmingham in 1961, is a British crime writer and screenwriter. After studying theatre, he worked as an actor, stand-up comedian and screenwriter before establishing himself as a novelist in 2001 with the first book in his series featuring Detective Inspector Tom Thorne. The Tom Thorne novels have been published in more than twenty languages and have received, among others, the BCA Award, the Theakston’s Award and the Sherlock Award. Billingham also wrote the thriller »The Lies of Others«, which became a number-one bestseller in the United Kingdom.
