Mariko Harigai (Dr. phil.), born in 1981, studied German studies at Keio University and earned a doctorate in theatre studies at Freie Universität Berlin after receiving a DAAD scholarship. As a dramaturgical associate, she contributed to the production of the installation performance “Die Scheinwerferin” by the Japanese artist Naoko Tanaka, which received, among other distinctions, the ZKB Acknowledgment Prize 2012 at Zürcher Theater Spektakel. Her academic interests include the aesthetics of voices, spatial and media theory, and the political dimensions of theatre.
